Our emotional wellbeing is just as important as our physical health. Understanding how to manage our emotions and people around us helps build resilience to the challenges of today. From youngsters making sense of their world, or teenagers coping with fast changing needs, or adults aiming to manage our own emotions, Emotion Coaching is a strategy for helping people of all ages to self-regulate and manage their stress responses. It involves sharing our thoughts and feelings about how we can make changes for the better.
How I can help
Tuning in to Kids and Tuning in to Teens are parenting programmes that focuses on the emotional connection between parents/carers and their children, from Pre-School to Teens. The evidence-based programmes have proved successful in improving parenting, parent-child relationships and childrens’ emotional competence and behaviour*.
I provide parent/carer workshops in Tuning in to Kids and Tuning in to Teens online or Covid-secure face-to-face groups. I have also provided similar workshops for teachers as part of a whole school approach to Emotion Coaching in Somerset schools.
